The Eight restaurant: The place has been on my to-try list for a while, and finally I got a chance to dine in here last weekend. The place was crowded with people when we walked in, but the staff easily found a table for 2 and we were seated right away. We had some of the best roasted duck ever, very flavourful and goes so well with rice. The only trouble was to be mindful of the bones in each piece of roasted duck. Crispy pork belly was tender at the meat and crispy on the skin, it’s amazing! We had some greats wonton soup, we loved every bite of it. The wontons in spicy chilli oil is a must try, the peanut sauce tasted was spicy and nutty, we liked it so much we used the remaining sauce to eat with rice. The dish that I wanted to try the most was the salted egg york toast, and I was not disappointed. The toast was massive, the salted egg sauce oozed out when I cut through it, really satisfying. And the toast was so tasty, it’s not very sweet, at the same time it’s not too heavy. I think I’ll come back again just for this toast.

love the vibe and modern design of the interior!! my table was downstairs, and it was nice to have a more quiet atmosphere compared to upstairs :) the food and drinks were very good - definitely up to Asian standard!! i had the 'three kinds BBQ with rice' dish, the pork was nice and crispy!! the stir fried noodles were delicious as well - not too oily and the soy sauce made the dish flavourful!! the soy milk with herbal jelly drink is also one of my childhood drinks - they nailed the taste and didn't make it overly sweet, just the way i like it nevertheless, the staff were friendly and efficient :)

The Eight is a fantastic spot in Chinatown, serving up authentic Hong Kong-style comfort food. The highlight for me was the Hong Kong egg yolk French toast—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with a rich, gooey salted egg yolk center that takes it to the next level. It’s indulgent, unique, and an absolute must-try! We also had the salt and pepper chilli tofu, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of spice. The menu has a great selection of classic HK dishes, and the service is quick and efficient. There’s both upstairs and downstairs seating, and you don’t need a reservation—just walk in and enjoy! Highly recommend, especially if you have a sweet tooth! Will definitely be back.

Good experience at the Eight! We just walk in and wait for 10 minutes to be seated! We got the roast duck and crispy pork combo, stir fried noodle, truffle wontons and the shrimp toast. Unfortunately, I would expect a bit better for the shrimp toast, it got 0 shrimp flavor. Otherwise the rest was great!

SUPER AUTHENTIC HK VIBES!!!Can vouch for the super authentic food as someone from Macau. One of my fav roast meat rice in London. The special starter is great for trying out different bits. Don’t miss out on the drinks!! 凍檸茶 ice lemon tea and 紅豆冰 redbean coconut ice ALL THE WAYYYYYY. Friendly staff and good vibes with old school canto pop. Can get busy at times but so worth it!

I ordered the Twin Mix BBQ Rice (15.8), which were the twin mix of BBQ pork and crispy pork belly, salted egg on toast (10.50), and a hot drink of coffee mix milk tea (5.00). The crispy pork belly was on point! The pork skin was crispy while the meat was tender! The texture of the BBQ pork was a bit dry, but probably because the cutting of the pork unfortunately didn't have a lot of fat to make it juicy and tender. The taste of both pork was delicious and very authentic to the ones I grew up eating back in Hong Kong. This included the soy sauce that they accompanied the rice with. The salted egg on toast was also memorable. The crust of the toast was crispy while the core was soft and rich of flavors from the salted egg. It is a nice twist from the traditional french toast in Hong Kong. The staff was very nice and helpful, which made the experience even more welcoming. If you want a taste of Hong Kong cuisine, I will recommend to visit this store :)

Authentic Cantonese bbq spot with good flavour and decently priced for London too. Might be the best mango pomelo dessert I’ve ever had too and it actually has pomelo bits in it! 10% service fee so not too unreasonable.

My boyfriend and I came here on July 1 and we really enjoyed both the food and the customer service while here. My boyfriend got the shark fin soup as a starter, the duck with rice and hong kong style iced tea. The duck was very tender and savory. For starters I got the wonton soup, the pork and rice as well as the hong kong style iced tea. While the food itself was good, the customer service was even better. Ric, who was our waiter, was very friendly, gave us great recommendations and was very attentiveto us. The customer service definitely made the food a 10/10.
